<\/span><\/b>Board meetings took place on 1 July and 10 September. Another meeting was hold via Skype on 12 July.<\/p>\n
<\/b>We didn’t have any regional meeting during summer time.<\/p>\n
<\/b>Conference in NRW will took place on 27 January 2018 in Cologne under the headline „Kurds in context of (de-)escalation in the Middle East – approaches of conflict and peace research“ in cooperation with Volkshochschule K\u00f6ln and Kurdish Center for Public Relations Civaka Azad. Speakers are i.a. political scientist Prof. Dr. Andreas Heinemann-Gr\u00fcder from university of Bonn, politic scientist Mahir Tokatl\u0131 from University of Bonn, sociologist Dilar Dirik from University of Cambridge, Adem Uzun as member of KNK executive board and Prof. Mithat Sancar, HDP MP and law professor\/legal scholar. Our conference in Frankfurt will be hold on 14 April 2018 under the
topic „Genocides in the Middle East and Paths to Reconsiliation“. You will find further information in our next newsletter.<\/p>\n
<\/b>Founding congress of Network of Kurdish academics in Switzerland will be hold on 16 December 2017. Due to increasing interest to our network in other European countries, a group worked out a concept for European wide organisation and network widening. We are convinced of the necessity to unify academic power and perspectives on Pan-European level.<\/p>\n
<\/b>In this context we invited Kurdish institutes and academic organizations to a European network meeting in November 217. 18 of 23 invited organizations confirmed their participation. We are looking forward to an effective meeting, and hope to lay the foundation for a prospective
and future-oriented networking of the important players.<\/p>\n
<\/b>In the context of Pan-European networking we will hold our third meeting with Kurdish academics from different European countries, all of them PhD’s \/ PhD candidates and research associates at universities.<\/p>\n
<\/b>We are organizing a network meeting with Kurdish politicians from different European countries on 8 December 2018 in the European Parliament in cooperation with Europe bureau of People’s Democratic Party HDP.<\/p>\n
<\/b>We are working on an German edition of PolitikArt, Weekend magazine of daily newspaper Yeni \u00d6zg\u00fcr Politika. Main topics will be the academics for peace, their working fields and hungerstrike of Nuriye G\u00fclmen and Semih \u00d6zak\u00e7a.<\/p>\n
<\/b>The first workshop in cooperation with a university will take place on 7 October. In cooperation with the InZentIM and working group migration of Duisburg-Essen University we will discuss about problems, power and perspectives of Kurdish migrants in Germany.<\/p>\n
<\/b>We offer a seminar about PowerPoint and one about project application. You will find detailed information on our homepage.<\/p>\n
<\/b>Our first Honorary Prize for outstandig scientific research and civic-society engagement will be awarded to Prof. Dr. Celile Celil and Prof. Dr. Noam Chomsky. Prof. Celil was speaker at our founding congress in 2009. With his speech he set the tone for our networking. The Award
ceremony will take place at Rautenstrauch- Joest- Museum – cultures of the world. <\/span><\/p>\n
