+++ Meeting of executive board

 The last board meeting was hold on 20 May in Cologne as part of general assembly.

+++ Regional meetings

 Apart from the regularly regional meeting in Bochum we organized a regional meeting in Frankfurt on 31 May.

 
+++ Conferences 2018

 First preparatory meetings for the conferences in 2018 (NRW and Frankfurt) took place recently. Now we are working on the detailled draft of the topics.

 
+++ Excursion

 This year`s spring excursion from 12 to 14 May took us to Kopenhagen.
 In a meeting with Danish and Kurdish academics we had the possibility to present our work and tout for networking of academics. We were pleased to met members of Kurdish Students Association Fokus A and hope to welcome them at our pan-European network meeting in November 2017 in Germany.

 
+++ European-wide Network Meeting

 The programme of European-wide networking meeting is fixed. We invited 20 Kurdish institutes and academic organisations.

 
+++ Pan-European Network Extension 

 Contact to Kurdish academics in Switzerland deepens increasingly. A member of our executive board met some academics there during the period from 25 to 27 May. Networking among academics continues to proceed. The founding congress is expected to be hold within 2017.

 Due to growing interest in Kurd-Akad beyond Germany´s borders a working group is established which will work on possibilities and perspectives, but also statutes of this field. 

 
+++ European-wide networking of Kurdish politicians

 After a successful workshop with some Kurdish politicians from different European countries we aimed to initiate an extensive networking of these important players. Therefore we also had a meeting with Peoples Democratic Party HDP Europe. We established a working group that will work out a concept including practical steps.

 
+++ Honorary Award

 For the first time we want to award a honorary prize for outstandig scientific expertise and civil society engagement at our annual reception. You will get detailed information within the next weeks.
