Dear Sir or Madam,

We are pleased to publish our current newsletter.

Executive board

Board meetings

In this quarter we held a board meeting on 30.08.2022.

Closed meeting

After a pandemic-related break, in Mid-July we held again a closed meeting. This has given us numerous new impulses that now need to be translated into concrete projects.

Lausanne Conference

This year we also held an online conference on July 24 to mark the 99th anniversary of the Treaty of Lausanne. While Prof. Dr. Baskın Oran explained the historical background, the focus of Dr. Ebdul Îlah Al Mustefa, lecturer at Rojava University, was about the impact on the region in general and the Kurds in particular.

Ideas workshop

In an extended board meeting on September 3 in Frankfurt a.M., we discussed projects for the coming years in line with the impulses from the closed meeting.

Mother tongue in focus

On 10.09 we held a Worldcafe on the topic of “Language and Identity” in cooperation with the psycholinguistic laboratories of the Technical University of Dortmund. There were introductory contributions by Prof. Dr. Barbara Mertins from the psycholinguistic laboratories and the co-chair of the Kurdish Institute Hacire Genç.
