On 10 January 10 2025, the 5th Conference of Kurdish Doctors on the topic of peace and health took place in Cologne.
Event by the Coordination Circle
On the occasion of International Mother Language Day, the Coordination Circle of Kurdish Institutes and Academic Organizations held its first panel discussion titled “The Language of Peace, the Right to Language.”
Signature Campaign for Rojava
Nearly 100 scholars have signed our appeal calling for a status for Rojava and an end to the attacks.
Teach-in with the Universities of Rojava
Numerous (first) signatories participated in an exchange with the universities of Rojava on current challenges and options for international solidarity.
Nobel Prize Laureates in Medicine for Rojava
Together with the Association of Kurdish Doctors in Germany, we asked Nobel Prize laureates in Medicine for a statement on the attacks on healthcare facilities and workers in Syria. They also addressed the United Nations and the World Health Organization.
World Medical Association
Together with the Association of Kurdish Doctors in Germany and the Rojava Doctors Union, we had written to the President of the World Medical Association – an alliance of 115 national medical associations – regarding the attacks on healthcare facilities and workers in Syria. The President subsequently issued a statement.
Instagram Live-Talks
In light of developments in Rojava, three additional talks were held on the political, legal, and humanitarian context.
Honorary Award Ceremony
The ceremony to present the Honorary Award to Prof. Dr. Birgit Ammann and Prof. Dr. Kemal Bozay took place on 10 January 2026, at the Kulturbunker in Cologne-Mülheim.
