Date:Thursday, 3th November 2016

There is hardly an issue that is dominating the agenda as broad as refugee problem. After closing of Balkan route thousands of refugees end up dying in the Mediterranean on their desperate flight to Europe.

Turkey plays a key role in European refugee policies. The controversial agreement with Turkey is still holding. The criticism that in context of the agreement fundamental and human rights are sacrificed is still outstanding, especially as regards developments in Turkey after the failed coup. At this point Europe has to ask itself what it does stand for.
We will have critical discussion of European and German refugee policies with Birgit Naujocks, managing director of refugee council NRW, and Prof. Dr. Köster, MEP. The meeting is a cooperative event of DGB, Kurd-Akad, VHS and Auslandsgesellschaft NRW.

Moderator: Dersim Dagdeviren, Chairwomen of Kurd-Akad
