Chemical Weapons and the Systematics of Warfare in Kurdistan

A delegation from the International Physicians for the Prevention of Nuclear War (IPPNW) Germany and Switzerland travelled to the Kurdistan Region of Iraq at the end of September to investigate allegations of chemical weapons use by Turkey. Their report calls for an international investigation. Shortly afterwards, photographs of Kurdish fighters whose symptoms are consistent with lethal poisoning by chemical agents are published.

The event will look at the results of the delegation, evaluate the recent footage of Kurdish fighters being killed and place all this in the context of anti- Kurdish warfare.
