Solidarity with HDP

The attacks on the HDP and left-wing opposition members have intensified in recent days. In numerous police raids, dozens of politicians, including co-mayors and former members of parliament, as well as academics have been arrested. The aim is to eliminate all opposition and to expand the fascist dictatorship. 

 

However, the Turkish government does not only target opposition and critical voices in Turkey. The family of the German-based political scientist Prof. Dr. Burak Çopur was visited by the secret service because of his scientifically based critical examination of political issues in Turkey. Recently, an employee of the Turkish secret service turned himself in to the Austrian secret service and reported on plans for attacks on Austrian politicians, including former members of Austrian Parliament Berivan Aslan and Peter Pilz as well as MEP Andreas Schieder. Ms Aslan and Mr Pilz had pointed out the establishment of a network of Turkish agents in Austria. 

 

We condemn all these attacks and intimidation attempts and express our solidarity with the democratic forces, in particular the HDP.
